COM-FSM Fundraising Dinner raises more than $60,000.00 for its Endowment Fund

Kolonia, Pohnpei (May 2, 2016) –The College successfully hosted its Fundraising Dinner which raised a total of $63,570.00 in donations and pledges. Held on the rainy night of April 29, 2016, the events master of ceremony, Post Master General Ginger Mida, offered welcoming remarks as did COM-FSM Board of Regents Chairman, Dr. Tulensru Waguk. COM-FSM President Dr. Joseph Daisy shared recent successes and progress of the College.
Held at the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries grounds in Kolonia Pohnpei, nearly 200 people attended the Fundraiser event. Present during the event were COM-FSM Board of Regents Chairman, Dr. Tulensru Waguk, Regent Kasio Mida, and former FSM President Manny Mori. Also present during the event were Government Officials, delegates from various institutions and dignitaries from China, Japan, United States, and Australia. Former President Mori is now the Executive Director for the COM-FSM Institutional Advancement Office and is responsible for organizing the fundraising dinner, which has been announced to be an annual event.
All proceeds of this fundraising event will go to the College’s Endowment Fund. Established in 1993, the COM-FSM Endowment Fund was started by the College for the purpose of generating income for the support of the future of the College.
